Each Immerscio.bio’s training curriculum contains at least one virtual reality training activity. The pedagogical modality of the training activity (e-learning, serious game, virtual reality, etc.) is specified in the description of each training module.
Virtual reality, and more particularly the VR headsets used, give an impression of reality, so that after a few minutes you will almost forget the environment around you. This experience, although very realistic and immersive, is not natural. Virtual reality has no harmful impact on your health. However, in certain cases and health conditions virtual reality is not recommended (see section 5).
1. How to complete an Immerscio.bio training activity in virtual reality?
Immerscio.bio’s virtual reality training activities must be conducted on Immerscio.bio’s virtual reality (VR) headsets, within a training location administered by Immerscio.bio.
The use of third-party VR headsets (personal or school/company) is under consideration but not supported at this time.
2. Where are the Immerscio.bio’s training centres located?
There are currently two Immerscio.bio’s training centres in France:
- PARIS: Coworking location, in Paris (near Gare de Lyon), whose precise coordinates will be communicated to you after your booking.
- LYON: Immerscio.bio’s centre in the ESTBB school, on the Campus of the Catholic University of Lyon, 10 place des archives, 69002 Lyon.
You have to go in one of these two centres to do your training activities in VR. You can also go there to work on your other Immerscio.bio training on your computer.
3. How to book a Virtual Reality (VR) session?
Once you are registered for a training curriculum or module containing VR, you can contact the Immerscio.bio team to book your VR session, according to your availability and the training centre you want to go.
- Contact the Immerscio.bio team at support@immerscio.com
- Specify the subject of your request (VR session) as well as your preferences: in which Immerscio.bio training centre, which date, at what time?
- You will be contacted by the Immerscio.bio team to finalize your booking.
- On the D-day, you will be asked to show proof of identity.
4. Reminder of the important rules for the booking of VR or PC sessions
- Travel costs are at the expense of your company or school.
- You can book up to 3 half-day sessions of VR or access to the Immerscio PC stations per module.
- It is imperative to complete the training modules and activities in the chronological order of the course (pedagogical logic): thus, to access the VR activity, you must complete all the modules and activities for which you are registered, prior to the VR activity.
- Strict sanitary processes for cleaning Immerscio.bio helmets and equipment’s are in place to ensure a safe training experience.
5. Health warnings about the use of VR headsets
VR is not recommended for persons with epileptic seizure disorders.
People suffering from sleep deprivation, anxiety, migraines, earaches and other ailments are not recommended to wear an VR headset. These can increase your sensitivity.
VR may also not be recommended for pregnant women, the elderly, and people with psychiatric disorders, binocular vision abnormalities, heart disease, or other serious illnesses, as well as for people with pacemakers or hearing aids. Do not hesitate to talk to your doctor or specialist.
If you have any of the above conditions, please contact us at support@immerscio.com to find out more about accommodations for VR training activities.
Although Immerscio.bio’s VR training courses involve few to no travel and moving environments, individuals who are prone to motion sickness may be at greater risk of discomfort when using a VR headset.
A trainer will be there at the Immerscio.bio training centre to accompany you through your VR experience, remind you of the rules of conduct and best practices for VR, and ensure that your experience goes as smoothly as possible.
